Tshwaranang Disabled Project

BACKGROUND

Tswaranang was formed in 1999 by volunteers who saw the need to start income generating projects for people with disabilities.  The members of the project are at this stage 9 persons with disability and four Volunteers joined the project recently after a period of absence.

 

Tswharanang is currently in partnership with Komatiland which provide them with a borehole and tank, farming equipment as well as seeds.

 

CHALLENGES

Currently the project has a three roomed house. However the roofing is not strong and is prone to ad weather conditions.

FUNDING AND FINANCE

The project is funded by the Department of Social Development through the quarterly subsidy scheme

Finance is also got through selling of products such as vegetables and flower arrangement products.

The project is situated n Kgopo village 20km outside Tzaneen. The activities of the project are as follows:
